Eligibility

You must meet the minimum age in your region to create an account (13+ in many jurisdictions, higher where local law requires). You may not misrepresent your age or impersonate another person.

Accounts & security

You are responsible for securing credentials and any activity conducted while logged into your account.

Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

License to operate

You grant us a limited license to host, display, encrypt, transmit, and moderate content you submit so long as needed to operate the service.

Public items you toggle as visible may be discoverable by other users or linked from search feeds.

Acceptable use

Do not harass, threaten, or exploit others; post unlawful content; attempt to overwhelm or break the infrastructure; circumvent moderation; scrape at abusive rates; or upload malicious files.

Moderation & enforcement

Automated tooling and admins may evaluate text for safety. We may warn, throttle, hide, remove, suspend, or delete material that violates these Terms or compromises community safety.

Third-party links & affiliates

We may add clearly labeled links to retailers, libraries, literacy programs, or similar partners where it helps discovery. External sites follow their own terms and privacy practices.

TookBooks™ does not currently offer paid subscriptions or in-app purchases.

TookBooks™ is provided as-is. Book metadata originates from external sources and may contain inaccuracies. You use recommendations and community content at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TookBooks™ operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.
